Abstract

Objectives: The aim of this study was to demonstrate the intervention meta-analysis using STATA software.
Methods: We conducted a meta-analysis using three types of data that included difference in means in continuous data, hazard ratio in time to event data, and proportion in percent data. STATA commands were metan and metaprop for overall effect size and forest plot, metareg for metaregression, and metafunnel, metabias, and metatrim for publication bias.
Results: The estimated overall effect sizes, test for heterogeneity and moderator, and the publication bias were reported using STATA commands by three types of data. Especially authors stressed how to evaluate heterogeneity in intervention meta-analysis.
Conclusions: Few of Korean books and articles related to the introducing meta-analysis have been published until now. However, they were not good for the Korean researchers who were non-majored in statistics due to the highly conceptual and theoretical contents. In order to encourage a conduction of meta-analysis, authors summarized commands of the STATA software related to conduct an intervention meta-analysis.
